BRIEF CURRICULUM:

I graduated at the University of Messina, and there started as a research student, spending a few years abroad. I began my proper University career at the University of Bologna in 1980, where I was appointed "Ricercatore" at the Faculty of Magistero and then, from 1984, at the Faculty of Lettere. There I taught several courses until 1998 when, on winning a national concourse, I was appointed Associate Professor of English at the Faculty of Lingue, University of Urbino, where I still teach.
I have taught on several subjects and different periods of British Literature: Elizabethan Poetry (Sidney, Spenser, Shakespeare); Medieval and Renaissance drama (especially Shakespeare and the History Play); Romantic poetry (Coleridge , Wordsworth), Twentieth Century poetry, novel and short story (Yeats, Eliot, Auden., Joyce); postcolonial short story (Achebe, Naipaul, Mahjoub). I have also done courses and seminars on literary theory: genres theory, 18th and 19th century aesthetics, the short story as genre, literary hermeneutics.
On the administrative side, I follow several Socrates Exchange programs with British Universities. I am member of a few boards and commissions: 1. Assignation of research grants; 2. Interdisciplinary faculty PHD project; 3. Commission for didactic reformation.
